Precision Optical Coating
Anton Travinsky, an Optical System Engineer with the Rochester Institute of Technology, discovered that a mirror he had ordered from another vendor had arrived badly damaged. So he turned to his colleague for help. Aware of EMF’s stellar industry reputation and precision optical coating capability, Anton’s colleague enthusiastically referred him to EMF.
The team at EMF, sprung into action. Once the mirror arrived at EMF, the engineers knew they had their work cut out for them. An initial review of the mirror had the engineers questioning whether salvaging the optic and removing its current coating was even possible due to the carelessness of the previous coating company. However, the team persisted in finding a solution.

They successfully removed the the old coating without damaging the optic and applied an Enhanced Aluminum coating while maintaining the desired spectral performance. As a final touch, the team topped off Anton’s experience by having the mirror shipped to him overnight!
