What are Lenses?
Lenses are optical elements which manipulate light through refraction to form images or shape light as desired.
Omega Optical produces lenses from crystals such as Potassium Bromide (KBr), Barium Fluoride (BaF2), Calcium Fluoride (CaF2), Magnesium Fluoride (MgF2), Cadmium Telluride (CdTe), Germanium (Ge), Zinc Sulfide (ZnS), Zinc Selenide (ZnSe), and Silicon (Si). We are always exploring new materials to be used in MWIR and LWIR application and are complementary for our Infrared Coatings.
Types of lenses we produce and coat
Assembled Optical Systems
We can provide concept to product, or build to print lens manufacture, coat, and assembly service. Our lens designs provide excellent wavefront control, MTF performance, robust shock and vibration, and athermal stability.
Infrared
Crystalline materials are often the best choice for infrared applications and can be challenging to work with. Our experienced opticians and coating specialists know how to handle thermally sensitive and hygroscopic materials.
Specialty
From millions of lighting fixtures to visors for astronauts, we have experience coating very challenging geometries.
