Omega Optical Celebrates the Retirement of Two Dedicated Team Members
This month, we celebrated two team members whose devotion helped define Omega Optical for decades. Together, they contributed more than 62 years of service, and their influence will guide our work long after they retire.
Dave Ventola – 43 Years of Service to Omega
When Dave joined Omega Optical at 21, he entered a world of photonics that became both his career and calling. Over 43 years, he grew into a leader known for innovation, precision, and passion for optical technology. As Director of Diffractive Engineering, Dave played a key role in instrument design and diffraction grating development, always expanding what was possible.
Dave’s influence extended beyond the lab. He shared knowledge through webinars, articles, presentations, and mentorship, helping shape the photonics community. At Omega, he was a colleague people gravitated toward, who made complex work clear and achievable.
As he retires, Dave looks forward to volunteering and finally giving his Corvette the long-overdue paint job and attention it deserves.
William “Bill” Youngberg, Salts Department Manager – 19.5 Years of Service to Omega
Bill’s retirement ends 19.5 years at Omega Optical, where he earned the title of Master Optician through dedication and attention to quality. His work shaped our products, and his guidance shaped our people. Colleagues counted on him for clarity, support, and a steady hand.
“There’s not enough I can say about what he’s done for the company; words can’t even fill that in… I’m losing my guy, but he’s stuck with me forever; he’s family,” Billy Gresler said at Bill’s retirement celebration.”
As he retires, Bill is excited to relax and spend more time with his classic cars, a passion he has long wanted to pursue.
